The Corolla Fielder, the wagon version of the Corolla Axio, got the same treatment of becoming a hybrid.
The THSII (Toyota Hybrid System 2) system, which combines a 1NZ-FXE type 1.5 litre engine with an electric motor, has become popular after its use in the Toyota Aqua (also known as the Prius C). The electric water pumps and EGR cooling systems have been carried over from the Aqua as well. Further, the same engine (74 ps / 11.3 kgm) and electric motor (61 ps / 17.3 kgm) can be found under the hood.
To put it frankly, the execution of the new model is quite plain. In my words, the similar ride comfort of the Corolla Axio can be found here.
That said, the JC08 mode fuel consumption rate is the same as the Corolla Axio at 33.0 km/L, and both the tachometer and the gated shift lever are very easy to get used to. Chief engineer Shinichi Yasui says, "I wanted to create a 5 number vehicle along with the Axio right from the planning stage", which explains the ease of handling, practicality, interior and large luggage space. It is a car he wanted to be useful to the consumer.
